FotoFrame
Turn any iPad, tablet or phone into a digital photo frame — no subscription, no extra hardware.
Get it on Google PlayAbout FotoFrame
Got an iPad or tablet gathering dust in a drawer? It still has a beautiful screen. FotoFrame turns it into a digital photo frame: a calm, full-screen slideshow of your favourite photos that crossfades from one picture to the next.
Show photos from your device, or pick them from Google Photos. You don't need an account to get started — try the built-in demo slideshow first, or choose photos from the library on your device.

- Portrait photos look goodPhotos that don't fill the screen get a soft blurred background instead of black bars.

Set up your frame
On iPad
- Keep the screen onSettings → Display & Brightness → Auto-Lock → Never. Keep the iPad plugged in.
- Lock it to FotoFrameSettings → Accessibility → Guided Access → On. Then, with the slideshow playing, triple-click the side or Home button and tap Start. This stops accidental taps from leaving the app.
- After a restart or power cutGuided Access has to be started again by hand. Open FotoFrame and it picks up your slideshow by itself.
On Android
Set the screen timeout to the longest setting, keep the device plugged in, and use Screen pinning (Settings → Security) to lock it to FotoFrame.
Frequently asked questions
- Is FotoFrame a subscription?
- No. It is a one-time purchase, with no subscription, no ads and no in-app purchases.
- Do I need a Google account?
- No. You can use photos from your device or the demo slideshow. A Google account is only needed if you want to show photos from Google Photos.
- Does FotoFrame upload or store my photos?
- No. We don't run any servers. Photos from Google Photos are streamed from Google to your device, and photos from your device stay on your device. See the privacy policy.
- Why can't it start Guided Access by itself?
- Apple only allows Guided Access to be started by the user (or by a managed-device administrator). That is why it needs a triple-click after every restart.
- My Google Photos selection stopped working.
- Google Photos selections are time-limited by Google. If yours has expired, FotoFrame says so; open the app and choose your photos again. Photos from your device never expire.
- Can I mix Google Photos and device photos?
- Not in the same slideshow. Use "New Selection" to switch between the two.
- Which devices does it run on?
- iPad (iPadOS), and Android phones and tablets. The iPad version is not available for iPhone.
- I need help.
- Email keersmaekersjan@gmail.com and we'll get back to you.
